Dr Louis Muller

Dr Louis Muller is an Anatomical Pathologist at PathCare with a diverse medical background spanning emergency medicine, forensic medicine, primary healthcare, and pathology.

Born in Kuruman, Dr Muller matriculated from Wessel Maree High School in Odendaalsrus in 1994. He went on to study at the University of the Free State, obtaining a BSc in Biochemistry in 1997 and an MBChB in 2002.

Following the completion of his internship and community service at the Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex, Dr Muller and his wife relocated to Nottingham, England, where he worked as a Forensic Medical Examiner. Upon returning to South Africa, he spent three years as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein.

In 2008, Dr Muller commenced specialist training in Emergency Medicine through the joint University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University programme. During this time, he also broadened his international experience by serving as a ship’s doctor with Princess Cruises for two years.

In 2012, he settled in Bloemhof in the North West Province, where he practised as a General Practitioner until the end of 2015. Returning to Bloemfontein in 2016, Dr Muller pursued specialist training in Anatomical Pathology and, in December 2021, obtained both his FC Path (SA) Anat Path and MMed in Anatomical Pathology from the University of the Free State.

Dr Muller is married to Marietta, an Occupational Therapist and dedicated mother to their four children, Hugo, Niki, Sion and Lara.
