PATIENT self registration and support
Self-Referral Tests
Selected laboratory tests are available through self-referral, allowing you to request certain pathology investigations without a referral from a healthcare practitioner.
However, PathCare strongly recommends that laboratory tests be requested by your doctor or other qualified healthcare practitioner whenever possible. Your healthcare practitioner is best placed to determine which tests are appropriate based on your symptoms, medical history and clinical examination. This helps ensure that the correct investigations are performed, unnecessary testing is avoided, and your results can be interpreted within the context of your overall health.
Please note that PathCare does not provide a medical interpretation service for self-referred test results. Your laboratory report contains the test findings only. If you require an explanation of your results or advice on the next steps, you should consult your healthcare practitioner.
Self-Registration Portal (SRP)
The Self-Registration Portal (SRP) is a new web application allowing patients and travellers to self-register before presenting at the branch for sample collection. In some cases, a payment option is available.
Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmatory SMS with a reference number. Please present the reference number when you arrive at the site for specimen collection.
