The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) classifies endometrial cancer into four molecular subtypes: (1) POLE ultra-mutated, (2) Microsatellite unstable, (3) Abnormal p53 expression (p53 Abn) and (4) No specific molecular profile (NSMP), forming the basis of the Proactive Molecular Risk Classifier for Endometrial Cancer (ProMisE). Molecular subtyping can assist with predicting treatment outcomes and prognosis of early endometrial cancer and is recommended by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines.
