Nombuyiselo Jeanette Zengele joined Pathcare in 2006 as an in-service Medical Technology student from
the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. In July of that year she was a recipient of a bursary from
PathCare and became one of the first graduates of the Academy’s Internship programme. Although a
student in Cape Town, Jeanette was willing to relocate to Bethlehem in the Free State to undertake her
internship where she remained with PathCare thereafter.  In December 2008 she was promoted to head
of the microbiology laboratory in Bethlehem. Thereafter, keen to expand her career options, Jeanette
took up an opportunity to relocate to a larger PathCare laboratory in Welkom.  She was sponsored to
study on the Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch University and she completed a
Laboratory Management Programme and a Management Mentorship Programme via the PathCare Academy.
Now, thirteen years later, she has advanced to be appointed to the Area Manager position in Welkom.
