Karen completed her MB. CH. B and M. Med (Anatomical Pathology) training at Stellenbosch University. She also obtained an MSc. Med Sci degree in Cytopathology in 2011 at Stellenbosch University.  She worked as a senior consultant in  Anatomical Pathology and Cytopathology at Tygerberg Hospital for nine years before joining PathCare in 2009.

Karen is a general histo- and cytopathologist  with special fields of interest including Pulmonary, Breast and Gynaecological Pathology as well as Cytopathology.
