Dr. Leocardea Schroeter is an experienced general surgical pathologist with over 22 years of dedicated service in the field of pathology. Her passion for understanding disease processes at the cellular level and contributing to patient care has been the driving force of her career.

Her journey in medicine began at the University of the Free State (1992–1998), where her fascination with the intricate world of pathology first took root. She completed her internship, community service, and medical officer years at Kimberley Hospital (1999–2001), gaining valuable clinical exposure before pursuing her postgraduate specialization in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Stellenbosch (2002–2007).

From 2008 to 2013, she served as a consultant pathologist in an academic setting, where she worked closely with clinicians, actively participated in clinicopathological meetings, and contributed to multidisciplinary treatment planning. This period honed her skills in case presentations, diagnostic precision, and collaborative teamwork.
In 2014, she transitioned to private practice in Nelspruit, where she continued to provide diagnostic services for nearly a decade. In 2024, she joined PathCare, bringing with her a wealth of experience, academic rigor, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in patient-centered pathology.

Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to advancing patient care through accurate diagnosis, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the pursuit of knowledge in the ever-evolving field of pathology.
