Dr Raveendra Sookhayi joined PathCare as a general histopatologist and cyto-pathologist in August 2015.
Born and schooled in Durban, Raveen completed his under-graduate studies in Bachelor of Medicine and surgery at WITS in 2002. He did his internship at RK Khan Hospital and Community service at Eshowe Hospital in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Raveenda spent a year in the United Kingdom, doing short term locums as a senior house officer and resident medical officer. On his return to South Africa he joined University of Cape Town and NHLS as a registrar in Anatomical Pathology.
Raveen completed his FC Path (SA) examination in 2010 before doing his M.Med dissertation which involved colorectal carcinoma. From 2010, he worked at Groote Schuur hospital as a consultant pathologist and junior lecturer.
Raveen’s interest include lymphoma, soft tissue-, bone-, gastrointestinal- , liver- and uropathology
