An opportunity exists for an experienced Client Liaison Officer to join the team at our Pinnacle Point branch in Richards Bay. We are seeking an individual who displays a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.
Key Competency Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Advanced knowledge of Meditech including results lookup, printing & emailing, login, billing lookups, result sending, shipping batches, archives etc.
- Must be proficient on MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook email)
- Experience of depot administration procedures is advantageous
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a pathology environment i.e. in a Depot Administrator role/Help Desk Operator/ICLO(I)

- Ability to problem-solve/investigate and multi-task
- Effective verbal and electronic communication skills including effective listening skills
- Ability to work under pressure and display resilience and tenacity in challenging situations

- Must have a proven track record of developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- A proven track record of displaying professionalism/the PathCare corporate image at all times
- A proven track record of resolving doctor queries
- Must be fluent in English
- Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends & public holidays if required
- Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a one stop service to critical supporting doctors in the hospital
- Perform frontline reception duties, check and capture patient data and handle accounts & banking.
- Develop and maintain internal/external customer and supporter relationships
- Assist with patient result queries, report processing, ward report filing and ward rounds to detect/identify problems related to PathCare service
- Real time problem solving i.e. assisting doctor with after request information/sourcing of tests which include booking frozen sections/bone marrows
- Escalate queries to the appropriate pathologist
- Accompany Drs on ward rounds as requested
- Accompany Microbiologist on Antibiotic stewardship rounds
- Ad-hoc assisting with CSO functions in their absence or when assistance is needed
- Attending to the Helpdesk queries via e-mail
- Assist with account queries
- Arrange for specialised testing to be done which includes liaising with the hospital booking department/doctor/PathCare nursing
