PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

An opportunity exists for a Client Services Officer to join the team at our Zuid-Afrikaans depot in Pretoria. We seek a self-confident individual who demonstrates the ability to maintain and build effective relationships with all stakeholders and has a proven track record of aligning with the PathCare values. The successful candidate will be required to travel within Pretoria in the following areas: Wilgers, Montana, Mamelodi, Hatfield (Urology site), Zuid-Afrikaans, Groenkloof and extending to Bela-Bela.

Key Competency Requirements

  • Appropriate Healthcare field qualification which includes a Medical Technology/Nursing Diploma or Degree/Technician Qualification with marketing/client service experience OR at least 5 years marketing experience in a medical environment/health care industry
  • A Marketing qualification is highly advantageous
  • Must have a valid unrestricted driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Microsoft Office- Excel, Word PowerPoint, Email etc.)
  • QA knowledge (PRISM, Point of Care, Accreditation audits and Client feedback) systems is highly advantageous
  • Previous experience in Pathology/knowledge of Pathology medical terminology is highly advantageous.
  • Extensive client service experience which includes:
    • engaging directly with clients and being the primary point of contact for them
    • a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with clients
    • a proven track record of networking with clients/supporters
    • a proven track record of troubleshooting/resolving supporter complaints effectively
    • experience with organising/co-ordinating marketing activities
  • Knowledge/experience with a pathology supporter base in the Zuid-Afrikaans area is highly advantageous
  • Experience in IT Systems (Skylims and PP3/V3) is highly advantageous

  • Fluent in written and spoken English with an understanding of Afrikaans

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture strong client relations with new and existing stakeholders in order to collaborate successfully and improve efficiencies
  • Work collaboratively with Area Manager, Zone Manager, Pathologists and seniors in their drive for growth and innovation.
  • Organise, co-ordinate and drive marketing activities
  • Maintain and grow the current market (identification of the growth opportunities)
  • Implement and drive marketing activities e.g., CPD events/Wellness days
  • Educate, inform and liaise with all stakeholders
  • Promote, educate and facilitate IT platforms for all supporters
  • Troubleshoot, manage and resolve supporter and patient complaints and queries in a professional and timeous
