PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

Opportunities exist for two Clinical Associates to join our team in the Histology Laboratory in Lyttleton, Centurion. We seek professionals who display a high level of ethics and integrity, with appropriate laboratory medicine expertise and experience, and a proven track record of aligning with our values.

Key Competency Requirements

  • Bachelor of Clinical Medical Practice (BCMP)
  • Current registration with HPCSA
  • Intermediate computer literacy (LIMS, Microsoft Office)
  • Grossing knowledge/experience
  • Technical training experience

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory and workflow management

  • Perform dissecting of specimens
  • Collect and /or receive specimens
  • Describe, dissect, photograph and sample macroscopic specimens
  • Handle and maintain specimen storage
  • Resolve/refer queries and After-Requests related to dissecting specimens
  • Assist (label and record) with cutups
  • Handle complaints/queries related to dissecting timeously and effectively.
  • Assist with ad hoc duties as and when required. e.g. administrative duties
  • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
