An opportunity exists for a Data Capturer to join the PathCare family in the Eugene Marais Pre-lab department in Pretoria. We are seeking individuals who display a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.
The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and secure entry of medical and patient data into our laboratory systems, supporting diagnostic quality and operational efficiency.
Key Competency Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Computer Literate- Microsoft Office, especially Excel proficiency required
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is advantageous
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute with high accuracy
- Previous typing and administrative experience
- Customer-focused with a passion for patient care and customer satisfaction
- Excellent attention to detail and data checking skills
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Display good interpersonal skills and be a team player
- Display initiative and the ability to work independently
- Must be able to work well under pressure and achieve set targets/goals within a fast-paced environment
- Must be fluent in English with an understanding of Afrikaans
- Applicants must be willing and able to work shifts between 06h00 and 20h00, including weekends and public holidays
- Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and verify patient and test data into laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Maintain high accuracy and speed of data entry (minimum 35 wpm required)
- Flag incomplete or inconsistent records and follow up for corrections
- Comply with privacy regulations and data security protocols
- Assist with periodic audits and quality assurance processes
- Collaborate with laboratory and administrative staff for seamless data flow
