PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

An opportunity exists for a Helpdesk Operator to join the team at our Vereeniging Mediclinic branch. We are seeking an individual who displays a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.

Key Competency Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • Proficiency in literacy, writing and numeracy in English and Afrikaans
  • Computer literate
  • At least 1 years’ experience as a Helpdesk Operator would be advantageous
  • Relevant experience in a medical customer service environment
  • Previous switchboard experience advantageous or the ability to acquire the knowledge in managing and operating a switchboard system with a high standard of professionalism
  • Client-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Display initiative
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills while demonstrating the ability to listen
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently as well as in a team
  • Adaptability
  • A positive attitude & flexible work-style
  • Must have an acceptable track record/performance rating with regard to the administrative, technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving the necessary requirements and outputs
  • Provide an excellent service to our critical supporting doctors in the hospital
  • Comply with operational excellence by adhering to the schedule and meeting all call center metrics
  • Assist with telephonic queries, conveying of Meditech results and printing of cumulative results for wards when needed
  • Develop and maintain customer and supporter relationships
  • Work closely with technical and administrative teams in the site
  • Comply with Quality Management Systems
  • Living the PathCare value system
