PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

Opportunities exist for Helpdesk Operators to join the team at our Reference laboratory in N1 City, Cape Town. We are seeking individuals who display a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.

Key Competency Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • Proficiency in literacy, writing and numeracy
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Pathology knowledge/experience advantageous
  • Minimum of 12-24 months experience in a medical customer service environment or in a medically related Call Centre
  • Client-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Display initiative
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and an understanding of Afrikaans (written and spoken)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills while demonstrating the ability to listen
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently as well as in a team
  • Adaptability

  • Calm temperament
  • A positive attitude & flexible work-style
  • Must be prepared to work shifts (dayshifts/afternoon shifts/weekends and public holidays)
  • Must have an acceptable track record/performance rating with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
