An opportunity exists for a HR Specialist – Talent Acquisition and Talent Management to join our HR team in Pretoria.

We are seeking a highly professional, proactive, orderly and administratively competent HR Specialist with strong Talent Acquisition and Talent Management expertise, who can provide specialist advice, coordinate and improve talent processes and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with local and national HR teams and managers to deliver effective talent solutions aligned to the organisation’s business requirements, HR strategy, policies and strategic business objectives. The role requires an individual who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and use HR data, technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the efficiency and quality of talent processes.

Key Competency Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management.
  • An Honours qualification in Human Resources Management will be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.
  • Sound knowledge of Labour Legislation and its application within HR processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR Policies & Procedures.
  • A practical understanding of Artificial intelligence (AI) tools and their practical application within HR and Talent Acquisition to support efficiency, productivity, and informed decision-making.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ideally 5-8 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources with substantial experience in Talent Acquisition and Talent Management.
  • Proven experience coordinating end-to-end Talent Acquisition processes, from advertising and sourcing through to selection and onboarding, including the associated administration, documentation and record-keeping activities.
  • Demonstrated experience providing specialist HR and Talent Acquisition advice to managers and stakeholders and influencing talent acquisition and talent-related decisions.
  • Experience in Talent Management processes, including onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating talent-related workshops, training or information sessions is advantageous.
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) will be advantageous.
  • Relevant experience analysing talent acquisition metrics and producing accurate reports to support informed decision-making will be advantageous.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools and automation in HR or Talent Acquisition to support process efficiency, reporting, data analysis, sourcing, or decision support will be advantageous.
  • Experience in an HR Generalist capacity will be advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative/office management/organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).
  • Ability to analyse information, identify solutions, and provide practical recommendations to support decision-making.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and display resilience and tenacity in challenging situations.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, and advisory skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and provide constructive guidance and challenge where appropriate.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality, while acting with integrity and sensitivity.
  • Well-developed planning, organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly dependable, adaptable and responsive to changing business needs.
  • Strong digital literacy and an interest in leveraging AI, automation and technology to improve HR and talent processes.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition and Talent Management:

  • Manage and coordinate the Talent Acquisition and Talent Management processes primarily for Pathcare Gauteng, in line with PathCare Group HR policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with and provide specialist support to the PathCare Group HR department and Talent team.
  • Participate in PathCare Group HR/Talent projects.
  • Assist and advise managers and all relevant stakeholders with talent acquisition advice/insight including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checking and ad hoc talent acquisition queries.
  • Coordinate and support talent management processes including on-boarding, performance management, Career Pathing, talent identification, development and succession-related initiatives.
  • Audit Talent Acquisition and Talent Management processes and initiatives to support compliance, consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Support and ensure adherence and implementation of Talent Acquisition/Talent Management policies and procedures.
  • Act as key point of contact and/or implementer of updated talent policies and procedures as well as future talent initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate talent-related workshops, training and information sessions when required.
  • Assist and advise managers with compiling comprehensive and well-motivated HR/business motivations.
  • When required, assist with the co-ordination and conducting of senior level talent acquisition processes, including the development of competency-based interview guides, assessment tools and shortlisting documentation.
  • Preparation and placement of internal and external adverts on the various advertising/social media platforms when required.
  • Co-ordinate the proficiency testing process.
  • Conduct exit interviews and collate and capture exit interview information and prepare resignation reports.
  • Prepare and coordinate talent-related administration e.g., process and prepare offers of employment if required.
  • Regular site/provincial on-site visits as required.

Generalist Functions:

  • Work closely with PathCare Group HR colleagues and key stakeholders and attend to generalist HR queries and/or escalate matters to the relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Compile accurate management information, reports, presentations and documents.
  • Participate in HR Projects.
