PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

An opportunity exists for a Medical Officer – Haematology with appropriate laboratory medicine expertise and experience to be based at our Pretoria branch. We seek a professional with a high level of ethics and integrity who displays a proven track record of aligning with the PathCare values.

Key Competency Requirements

  • MB ChB qualification
  • Current registration with MPS and HPCSA as a medical practitioner
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own transport
  • Be able to travel extensively to perform bone marrow aspirations and biopsies during office hours and over weekends
  • Ability to perform INR dosages and assist with the management of the INR clinic during office and after hours
  • Willingness to participate in strengthening and expanding PathCare Haematology services
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Client focused with advanced interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and display resilience and tenacity in challenging situations
  • Must have an acceptable track record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
  • Must be willing to assist in the Vereeniging/Klerksdorp area if required
