We are seeking a capable and driven Data Capture Operations Section Head to lead and manage the operational performance of our Data Capture Department at our N1 City branch in Cape Town. The Data Capture Operations Section Head will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Data Capture Department. Reporting to the Data Capture National Manager, this role is accountable for ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively across Client Experience, People Management, and Service Delivery.
The successful candidate will manage both direct and indirect teams, driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Competency Requirements
- Grade 12 with strong literacy and numeracy proficiency (essential)
- Tertiary qualification or certification in business administration, management, or a related field (advantageous)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the data capturing systems on Meditech and Capture
- Must have extensive experience of operations and the use of systems in the login department
- 3 years’ supervisory experience/Team Leader experience
- MS Excel: experience in creating spreadsheets, pivot tables, graphs, V-Lookups etc.
- MS Word/Outlook: experience with designing reports/training material, professionally drafting emails to internal/external clients
- PowerPoint & Access: basic experience

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an operations team through data management.
- Managing day-to-day activities, analysing statistics and decision making.
- Analyse business processes/systems and identify operational improvement or streamlining.
- Process and Journey Mapping.
- Trouble shooting procedural problems.
- Ongoing liaison and relationship building with various divisions within the organization.
- Resource planning to meet TAT & Quality (Error Rate& Check Log%).
- Reporting- creating and maintaining of reports.
- Updating of policies and procedures as and when required.
- Managing functions to achieve departmental goals.
- Consulting with staff, area managers, pathologists, and other site/section heads.
- Staff management including talent acquisition
- Staff management – Performance, attendance, and behaviour escalations.
- Managing all HR and IR related functions.
- Managing Team Leaders and Technical Specialists collaboratively.
- Identify training needs, coaching, developing, and succession planning for all team members in the department.
- Meeting and reporting on department progress through various channels and platforms weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
