PathCare is a partnership of pathologists in private practice across South Africa that has been assisting doctors and healthcare professionals determine and confirm diagnoses since 1923. We are registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) and all our laboratories are SANAS accredited.

An opportunity exists for a Switchboard Operator/Receptionist to join the team at our Reference laboratory in N1 City, Cape Town. We are seeking individuals who display a high level of ethics and integrity while consistently aligning with the PathCare values.

Key Competency Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • Proficiency in literacy, writing and numeracy in English with an understanding of Afrikaans
  • Computer literate (MS Word/Excel)
  • Minimum of 6 months Call Centre/Customer Service experience required OR
  • Minimum of 6 months Switchboard/Reception experience required
  • Medical Telephonic experience advantageous
  • Client-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills while demonstrating the ability to listen
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve and work unsupervised
  • Innovative thinking
  • Calm temperament
  • A positive attitude & flexible work-style
  • Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends & public holidays
  • Must have an acceptable track record/performance rating with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position
